Introducing the new Daniel Smith Platinum Series Brushes

Developing the Platinum Series brush line was a labor of love - we looked the world over and had sample brushes crafted by all the best brush makers. Each brush went through extensive testing by artists and our employees. We selected the most popular test models and set out to improve them.

We went back to the brush makers with our modifications and put them through more rigorous testing. Ultimately, we narrowed the field to a single line of brushes made with a thirsty resilient blend of squirrel hair and state of the art synthetic fibers. Every element of these brushes was refined to offer you a complete range of unique brushes with extraordinary performance.

Wonderfully responsive, these brushes lay down lush, beautiful strokes with controlled flow and minimal reloading. Soft, absorbent squirrel hair is mixed with various thicknesses of tapered synthetic fiber and hand-cupped to produce a durable, shape-retaining brush with an exceptionally full belly and outstanding water-carrying capability.

The rounds and cat's tongue brushes point very well, while the flat and wash brushes come to a crisp chisel edge. Tapered hardwood handles are perfectly balanced and feel great in your hand. Squeezed dry, this brush will lift a surprising amount of paint without scrubbing or damaging the delicate surface of your paper.
