Karen Sioson

“The selection DANIEL SMITH makes available to artists has motivated me to go beyond my comfort zone and brought back the thrill of discovering new ways to use watercolor paint. For me, that is the mark of a great product, when you stop seeing it as just paint or material but start seeing it as possibilities.” —Karen Sioson

Karen Sioson is from the province of Bataan. She has been painting in watercolors since the early 1990s. Introduced to it during Interior Design rendering classes, it is the difficulty in controlling watercolors that started her on the quest to learn more about the medium. Karen loves how well watercolor is able to capture light and how expressive it can be. She combines her love of gardening, plant collecting and painting in her watercolor florals. She shares some of her watercolor processes, tips and discoveries on her blog and several websites she helps write. She also contributes articles to art magazines. Karen has exhibited both locally and abroad and actively promotes the art of watercolor. Workshops, paint, travel and more are in the planning.
