Paul Wang’s passion for the arts began at a young age in Singapore. He studied Interior Architecture and later, Technical Theatre Design. Thanks to his multidisciplinary and multi-sensory training, his sketches and paintings are rich with dramatic color—much like a stage set. Today, Paul works as both an artist and a design educator, enthusiastically sharing his love for sketching. His goal is to help students grow wings and establish deep roots in all their creative pursuits.

Urban sketching has become Paul’s unique way of capturing the urban landscape and transforming it into visual stories. Many of his on-location sketches have been featured in both local and international publications, including the Moleskine Art Journal series and, most recently, National Geographic Reisender magazine. Paul is also an international correspondent and advisory board member for the Urban Sketchers blog.

“I love DANIEL SMITH paints because they are vibrant, highly mixable, and create the most beautiful textures for my sketches. My Colour Play Lab watercolor set explores the idea of attraction and tension. Simply pick and play with any two colors—then watch them dance, mingle, and even oppose each other as you mix. I know these six exciting colors will allow you to create a myriad of new mixes that will captivate the eye.”
