Lisa is a Signature Member of the San Diego Watercolor Society, a Member of the Victorian Artists Society in Melbourne, and was the Vice President of the Watercolour Society of Victoria between 2019–2022. She has held nine solo exhibitions since 2006. Lisa paints in both watercolour and oils, and loves the different challenges and satisfaction from the two very different mediums. Her work covers an extensive variety of subjects, including portraits and wildlife, which are her favourites. Her confident brushwork has an ability to capture light and details at the same time, making her paintings unique and highly sought after by art lovers and collectors worldwide.
“I used to have a mixture of watercolour brands, until I recently changed my entire palette to
Daniel Smith. My paintings improved dramatically from there on, because I have learned to know each colour intimately, and how it behaves. Thanks to the Daniel Smith full-range dot card, I was able to test all of them and select colours that were best suited for my painting technique, which involves lifting areas to create highlights. I feel it’s most important to know your paints before you use them. You should know how they behave; it makes the complexity of handling watercolour much easier.”
