Rafael Pita

拉斐爾·皮塔 was born in 1986 in Bahia, Brazil. At the age of 18, he moved to São Paulo in search of professional guidance, where he discovered watercolor painting. His work has been exhibited in both national and international official exhibitions and published in editorial and advertising fields. His style is known for balancing precision and spontaneity, exploring themes of nature, the human figure, and everyday life with lyricism and authenticity.

In addition to his artistic work, Rafael is dedicated to training new talents. He actively teaches watercolor and produces content on social media. Through his online courses and his method “Unlocking Watercolor,” he has taught thousands of students in Brazil and around the world. He also leads in-person workshops and immersion events, sharing his teaching approach in various cities across Brazil. He is a frequent guest teacher at the International Watercolor Meeting in Paraty (RJ).

In Ilhéus, a coastal city in Bahia where he lives — one of Brazil’s top producers of cacao and fine chocolate — he created the “Watercolor and Cacao Immersion,” combining plein air painting with gastronomy, eco-tourism, and cultural experiences. The event grows every year, attracting people from Brazil and abroad to enjoy a delightful and inspiring watercolor journey.
