Darkest of the reds, Carmine will help you achieve clear neutrals when mixed with its complement, Phthalo Green. It’s darker and more staining than Alizarin Crimson.
Gouache swatches are painted in two sections. The top is mass tone straight from the tube and the bottom is mixed 1:1:1 with paint, water and Titanium White.
