“Born in Alhama de Granada in 1965, I am a senior industrial and interior designer with extensive experience in project design, technical drafting, and urban sketching. My early artistic influences stem from the structural precision of Leonardo da Vinci, the luminous quality of Sorolla, and the atmosphere of Velázquez.
I translate my technical background into fine art, infusing an industrial character into my artistic work. I deliberately leave unfinished negative spaces rather than overworking a drawing, echoing the aesthetics of the technical blueprints from which my background originates.
I craft my own hand-bound sketchbooks—a practice I began in 1985 when I started my formal art studies, followed by further studies in Switzerland in 1988. My sketchbooks serve as intimate travel companions; I tailor paper formats and textures to each technique. I specialize in working on pre-tinted papers to establish mid-tones from the outset, allowing me to focus directly on capturing light, shadow, and narrative speed.
In recent years, I have actively expanded my practice across traditional media, prioritizing watercolor and urban landscape sketching alongside ink, gouache, and oil painting.”
