Marco Novo

Marco Novo, born in Padua in 1980, is a computer engineer who has always been passionate about figurative art, drawing, and painting.

During high school, he began painting continuously with a well-known aerosol art writing group in Padua (AGW). At the same time, as a self-taught artist, he studied drawing and painting, inspired by renowned masters of figurative simplification from England and Japan. After graduating, he attended courses in pencil, acrylic, and oil techniques, but when he discovered watercolor, he was immediately captivated.

He remains fascinated by the surprising ways color transforms when it meets water—an endless source of wonder, especially in the rendering of figures, landscapes, and interiors, which have become his true passion.

In 2019, together with three talented watercolorists, he co-founded the Onda Creativa association in Padua. Today, the association has nearly 700 members worldwide, and since 2020 he has been teaching watercolor through both online and in-person courses.

In recent years, he has won or placed highly in various live and extempore painting competitions and has exhibited in numerous group exhibitions dedicated to watercolor, including Acquerellisti Noi a Padova, Fabriano in Acquerello, Arte Padova, as well as many collective shows in Italy (Rome, Monza, Milan) and abroad (Córdoba in Spain, France, USA).

His works are now permanently exhibited and available for purchase at the two Onda Creativa locations in Padua.

He has also been invited as a guest artist to give demonstrations and workshops at several watercolor festivals in Italy, such as Fabriano in Acquerello und Fermo in Acquerello, along with other art events and gatherings.

For Marco, watercolor represents the perfect escape from the rational and frenetic world of technology—an incredible daily journey accompanied by brushes, water, and colors.
