Sandor Szikszai is a Hungarian/Australian watercolor artist, curator and educator. After a period of twenty years of high-flying business life, he retired to dedicate his life to attaining his youthful dream of artistic self-expression. Ever since, he has been a path finder, rushing around the world looking for vital inspiration.

Sandor has lived on two continents, Europe and Australia, which has given him plenty of life experience to transform into works of art. He established the IWS Hungarian Branch and Watercolor Academy, serves as a board member of IWS Global, and is a Community Leader of Fabriano in Aquarello. Over the years he has co-organized and curated many exhibits and events, both local and international, and he also compiled and published the first International Watercolour Diary. He is one of the 50 global artists in the Re-Interpretation of International Contemporary Watercolor Traveling Exhibition, which has been showing continuously throughout China since 2017.

In September 2021, Sandor curated BudapestinAcquarello, featuring the work of Fabriano in Acquarello Country Leaders in the exclusive Budapest Stephanie Palace Exhibition Hall. For the last four years, he has been conducting regular joint painting sessions for a group of watercolorists, with the goal of  infusing their work full of an admirable sense of life.

Sandor is a strong symbolist; his internal spirit calls him to select most of his subjects. Whether landscape, still life or portrait, his work is marked with a delicate sense of composition and color, as well as quality technique and craftsmanship. He has been invited to exhibit at more than 50 local and international group exhibitions across Europe and abroad.
