When I was a young child, I had painting in watercolor dreams. As life would have it, academics took over. I didn’t start actually painting until I retired 25 years ago— never too late! As life would have it, my husband got cancer. The good news: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center saved his life and I have done many sketches and paintings at the Hutch clinic— saved my sanity! Now, just this year, I have started teaching art and I strongly recommend (insist!) that my students use only Daniel Smith paints.
