Johnny Patramanis from Greece shared his favorite watercolor tips and techniques:

Here’s a Q&A with Johnny:

If you could only take three colors with you to paint on a deserted island, which three would you take?
I would go with a good old triad of primary colors – Pyrrol Scarlet, Yellow Ochre and Ultramarine Blue. Three colors with many mixing possibilities.

Describe a recent art exhibit that you participated in which was particularly inspiring.
The Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour 143rd Annual Exhibition that took part at the Royal Scottish Academy. Having my paintings in that building was simply amazing.

What were the last few photos you took that might inspire you to paint?
My photo album is full of stray cats, so I might need to do a series about them.

What is the best piece of advice another artist has given you?
Just don’t give up. If you’re not tenacious, you’re more likely to quit.

What are you excited about working on next?
I started doing some research for a new series of paintings and I really enjoy the process.
