How to use the CIE-Lab Color Map

This CIE Lab Color Map features all of the DANIEL SMITH Extra Fine™ Watercolors, excluding the Luminescent line.

1. Click on color square(s) to see a pop-up window with a larger swatch, the color name and the specifications.
2. Click Add to Compare in each pop-up to add desired swatches (up to 20 at a time) to a side by side comparison bar. Click the Compare button on the main menu to view your selections. Use the Excel or email buttons to download or share your selections. Remove swatches from your comparison by clicking the X.
3. Click each swatch to read more about its Color Story.

How to zoom in

Scroll up and down the map as you would normally; you may need to hold down the shift key to pan left and right with your mouse or fingertips. To increase the distance between the grid lines and see clusters of layered colors more clearly (not available on mobile), hold down the shift key while zooming.
