Sepia was historically made from natural cuttlefish ink, but now this gray-brown pigment is chemically manufactured. Dark brown-black in mass tone, it becomes a neutral, warm gray with brown tones when mixed with white.
Gouache swatches are painted in two sections. The top is mass tone straight from the tube and the bottom is mixed 1:1:1 with paint, water and Titanium White.
