Artist キャロライン・ディーブル has discovered a brilliant way to turn fine art into wearable art—using ダニエルスミス水彩画グラウンド and our DANIELSMITH極細水彩画 to create one-of-a-kind miniature paintings inside jewelry settings.

Each of Caroline’s delicate pendants starts with a metal cabochon—easily found at local bead or craft shops. These shallow, bezel-style settings provide the perfect base for her imaginative and expressive watercolor creations.

To begin, Caroline fills each cabochon with DANIEL SMITH Pearlescent White Watercolor Ground, creating a luminous surface that enhances the vibrancy of the colors layered on top. Once the ground is fully dry and cured, she applies tiny, intricate watercolor paintings by hand—turning each piece into a miniature artwork.

The magic doesn’t stop there. To protect the finished design and give it a high-gloss, jewelry-like finish, Caroline seals each piece with a layer of clear resin. This final touch ensures the artwork is preserved, waterproofed, and ready to be worn and admired for years to come.

From elegant abstract color stories to tiny landscapes and whimsical motifs, no two pieces are alike. Each one is a testament to the versatility of watercolor as a medium—and the innovative ways artists like Caroline Deeble are using DANIEL SMITH products beyond the paper.

Enjoy these photos of Caroline’s beautiful watercolor jewelry! These tiny treasures make perfect gifts, cherished keepsakes, or personal style statements for lovers of art and color.

Other pieces—like the below mini paintings in frames, flower brooch, cat brooch, and earrings—are painted on thick cardstock sealed with Watercolor Ground.

“I am a visual thinker. With each moment captured in time, a non-erasable photograph is etched in my mind. It is these images that in turn redevelop and become the new image of the next artwork that I create. My paintings are my visual, creative response to my daydreams. Bringing them to life is my reward. I see myself as a painter of our natural world. Its beauty, colours and organic form inspires my continued developing artistic response. My passion & experience enables me to share my art and technical skills through my private studio workshop classes.”
