Raffaele Ciccaleni is an Italian watercolor painter, teacher and writer. His articles and watercolours have been published in Italian and International art magazines, such as International Artist and Leisure Painter. He has won many art awards, especially at en plein air and ex-tempore contests, where watercolor is especially suited for its immediacy and freshness of execution.
His works have been exhibited in many countries, and he currently teaches watercolor workshops available online. Since 2015, his watercolors have been exhibited at Fabriano in Acquarello, during which he also ran workshops focused on en plein air and landscape sketching. In 2018, Raffaele joined fellow Italian watercolourists for the Locri in Acquarello meeting, where painters documented a National Archaeological site with an artistic scope for the first time, in the manner of Grand Tour visits of long ago.
