Born in Hong Kong, Rainbow Tse (aka Rainb.w) specializes in painting cityscapes and landscapes. She believes that many places and feelings are worthy of a story to tell. Her artworks based on this concept are developed into a unique style known for presenting lights, shadows, and colours. Expressing certain moods and atmospheres, she hopes to bring these stories to life so the audience can experience the scene and evoke relatable memories of their own. She holds a BA in Fine Arts and Psychology from the University of Hong Kong and has built extensive experience and exposure, both local and internationally, in the field of art.

Rainbow is also exploring digital mediums such as animation, film and digital illustration. She hopes to continue on this journey of creating works that are emotionally resonating, ultimately bringing hope and beauty to those she reaches. Her recent credentials an Excellence Award from the Guangxi Watercolor Annual Exhibition, Grand Award from the Korea International Watercolor Contest & Exhibition, a winner in The Best of Watercolor: Splash 22 Competition, as well as awards from the Indonesia International Watercolor Competition and Exhibition and the International Master of Watercolour Youth Alliance Contest & Exhibition.

“I have painted a large collection of watercolors, with many exploring the streets of Hong Kong. It is an especially thrilling process to paint nightscapes with a medium as transparent as watercolor. I believe art is storytelling – images have a unique power for bringing light to the unseen and life to the mundane. This is where I begin to create. I love DANIEL SMITH Watercolors for their unique set of colors and ability to create such beautiful granulating effects. None does it better when it comes to painting textures and showing the distinctive personality of watercolor.”
