Transparent Watercolor Ground allows your surface’s color and texture to show through your watercolor work – even when you’re painting a rocky landscape on an actual rock.
The rock’s surface shows through the Watercolor Ground, with some white and gray colors applied to give more shape to the rocks. The clouds, trees, mountains and water are all enhanced by the color and texture of the rock as well.
You could also combine Transparent with Titanium White Watercolor Ground in a painting by applying in different areas – clear where you want the natural rocky color and white for the clouds.
Expand your creativity beyond watercolor paper and paint on almost any flat or dimensional surface – wood, metal, fabric, masonry, plastic, plaster, rocks, board, glass, nearly anything!
