Anna Marie Steffenson

Anna Marie Steffenson was born in Jerusalem and spent half of her developmental years split between the two sides of her hometown – the Israeli side and the Palestinian Area B No-Man’s Land between the West Bank and Israel.  She spent the rest of her childhood on her family farm in Nebraska and graduated from college with a degree in Studio Art and Business Administration.

Anna Marie is a passionate watercolorist with work in private and public collections in over two dozen countries. She teaches watercolor workshops throughout the United States and is active in her local art organizations. She uses the immediacy and intuition of watercolor to powerfully push the emotive expression and soul of her artwork. She’s not only interested in hue, but also in celebrating the characteristics of each unique pigment by exaggerating its blossoms, granulation, and singular effects.
