Letizia Monacelli is an Italian architect focused on interior home and office design. She graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Rome in 2003, giving a thesis based on the contemporary history of architecture. Since being at university, she has always used digital graphics programs (including Autocad and Photoshop) to draw, but her favorite tool to describe her projects is still a pencil. She has designed private homes and offices, high-end executive office furniture, as well as a hospital. She’s fond of urban architectural photography and most of her shots are transformed into watercolor masterpieces by her husband, Giovanni Balzarani. She is now moving away from drawing and digital design over to the watercolor world and increasing her knowledge about color. She is a member of InArte Fabriano, the Architects Association of Latina, as well as the Fabriano in Acquarello team. She’s also the European Social Media Manager for Daniel Smith.
“As a designer, I’ve used color my whole life. I started to draw when I was child – at school, I was interested in geometry, art history and then architecture. I’ve traveled a lot and have seen many monuments and artwork throughout Europe and abroad. I encountered watercolors about six years ago and my favorite subjects are still life, using my own photos as reference. DANIEL SMITH Watercolors help me to express different techniques and styles…they put power into my painting, making it absolutely unique and precious.”
