A tinted base is a terrific way to set an atmospheric mood for your artwork or match your foundation to your subject. Instead of using White 水彩底料, try preparing your surface with one of the other stock colors – Buff, Gold, Pearlescent or Black.

You can also blend watercolor paint into White Watercolor Ground to tint it. Use 金銀鈷黃 for a golden glow on your surface when painting sunny landscapes, for example. Try a shade of blue to cast a cool, wintery feel. Create a magical shimmering background when you tint with Luminescents.

Use the white ground to mask out a tinted area or to cover over painted areas that you want to re-work.

With DANIEL SMITH Watercolor Ground you can transform almost anything – metal, plastic, paper, glass – into a surface that mimics watercolor paper. Archival and acid-free, 水彩底料 comes in six colors and is easy to apply. Learn more about the basics in this video.
