Last week, we officially unveiled 6 brilliant new colors for 2025! Today we will explore further and take a closer peek at these fabulous new additions to our Extra Fine Watercolor collection! (Which, by the way, now brings us to a total of 272 amazing watercolors in our line!)

You can download our newly updated brochure and color chart HERE!

These fun new colors, which come in 15ml tubes, are Jaune Brilliant No. 1, Jaune Brilliant No. 2, Coral Reef, Earthy Red Light, Manganese Violet, and Cobalt Green Deep. You may click on each color name to view the color story and pigment info for each!

To investigate each color, they were squeezed from the tube into full pans, along with a good-sized dab of each on a ceramic palette. The pans were then left to dry overnight.

They look like candies!

To showcase the paint in both its mass tone and diluted with water, each color was loosely swatched onto a sheet of cotton cold press watercolor paper

Alternatively, a smaller swatch was made on paper with a slightly rougher texture.

It’s interesting to note how the paint behaves differently on various paper textures!

To demonstrate opacity, each color was then painted over waterproof black ink.

A complimentary color was selected to go with each color, which you will see directly beneath the opacity swatch as we explore each of these watercolors!

The ultimate step will involve blending each color with every other new color to discover the resulting mixtures. Surprises await!

So, with that process in mind, let’s delve into each color individually and get to know them better!
