How does Daniel Smith test paint for possible toxicity?

Product safety is of the utmost importance to everyone at Daniel Smith. As an ACMI (Art and Creative Materials Institute) member since 1994, we send all our paint recipes/formulas with product samples to Duke University. ACMI uses Duke to test products that will bear the ACMI label, which assures comprehensive testing and evaluation by their board-certified PhD toxicologists, as well as independent labs when needed. Our products are labeled per their toxicologists’ written directions. Safety Data Sheets are created by these toxicologists and made available to all of our customers.
